The short answer

Powder brows in Edmonton cost $200 to $600 for a first session at the four studios we checked on October 20, 2026, and each charges $50 to $210 more for the first touch-up. It’s 6:10 a.m., it’s −28 outside, and you’re drawing your brows in the car mirror while the defrost does its thing. If you’re pricing powder brows so that ritual can retire, here’s the short version: at four Edmonton studios we checked on October 20, 2026, a first session costs $200 to $600, and touch-ups are priced separately. At Mari Esthetics, a private home studio in West Edmonton, Soft Powder Brows are $250 for about 150 minutes, with a $75 deposit to hold your time. At many studios, though, the menu price is only day one. Here’s how the rest of their bill works, and what to ask before you book.

Day one, week six, year two: the three prices of powder brows

At most Edmonton studios, a powder brow isn’t one purchase. It’s up to three. Day one is the session itself. Around week six to ten comes the perfecting touch-up most studios sell, when the artist fills any spots where pigment healed lighter. Then, somewhere between one and three years, comes the refresh, when the colour has softened and you want it back.

Mari’s service page says colour typically takes 4–6 weeks to settle, and to let brows heal fully before you judge the final shade, because it softens as the skin settles. That’s why the week-six photo, not the day-one mirror, tells you what you actually bought. In Madrid, Carolina Alfonzo’s studio recommends a colour refresh at around 12 months and says its refresh price only applies to work it did itself. That’s worth asking anywhere: a cheap refresh price may not apply if your first brows were done somewhere else.

How other studios price later visits: why waiting costs more

Look at the right-hand column of the table again. Edmonton studios price later visits on a ladder, and every rung is higher than the last. At JM, the same visit goes from $150 at 8–10 weeks to $350 after two years, close to the $400 of a brand-new session. At Brow Beast, a touch-up at 12–22 months costs $200 + GST, the same as the first session. At Studio Vanassa, coming back within 12 months is listed at $399 + GST.

The lesson, in plain words: a refresh while you still have colour to work with is usually cheaper than waiting until it’s gone. If you’re comparing studios, compare the whole ladder, not just the first number. Mari Esthetics’ menu lists one Soft Powder Brows session and no separate touch-up or refresh service.

Your skin type is part of the price

Mari’s menu says results typically last 1–3 years, depending on skin type and lifestyle. That range is the honest answer, and it matters for your budget. Chic in, a brow studio in Pereira, Colombia, puts it bluntly on its own page: on oily skin, micropigmentation tends to last less time.

So if your T-zone is shiny by lunch even in a furnace-dry January, plan for the shorter end of that range. Our guide to powder brows on oily skin in a dry city goes deeper. If your skin is on the dry side, you may land closer to the longer end. Neither is a promise; it’s a planning number. Mention your skin type, any previous brow tattoo, pregnancy, skin conditions or medications when you book, and you’ll be told if powder brows are a fit.

Package or pay as you go?

Chic in sells brows three ways: a single session, a package with one touch-up within 90 days, or a premium package with touch-ups at 90 days and six months. The Edmonton menus we checked work the other way: the session first, everything after priced on its own. Neither model is better; they just make different numbers look small. Before you pay any deposit, ask:

  • Is a touch-up included, and if not, what does it cost?
  • What is the window for that first touch-up, and what happens if I miss it?
  • Does the refresh price apply if my first brows were done somewhere else?
  • Is GST included in the price on the menu?
  • How much is the deposit, and does it go toward the total?

What you’re really paying for

The pigment is the cheap part. You’re paying for design and judgment. Spanish brow specialist Sophie Lin told El Español’s MAGAS that the best brow for a person is the one she was born with, and the design gets adjusted within it. Her most common correction in women over 40 is a brow that was plucked too much from underneath.

One free tip from us: stop plucking the underside of your brows a few weeks before your appointment, so your artist can see your real shape. If you lived through the thin-brow 2000s, our guide to putting down the tweezers is a good read first.

Book in November, finish by Deep Freeze

Here’s a calendar that works with an Edmonton winter. Book in early to mid November. For the first 10 days, Mari’s aftercare says to keep brows dry and avoid heavy sweating, so don’t schedule it the week of your hot-yoga challenge or your rec-league playoffs. Give the colour its 4–6 weeks to settle, and your brows are finished before January’s festival run: Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Festival on Alberta Avenue, January 16–17, 2027, and the Winterruption YEG music festival, January 20–24, 2027.

Nurses and shift workers: book on the first day of a long stretch off, so the no-sweat days land on your days off. Flying somewhere warm over the holidays? Read our powder brows before a winter sun trip post before you pick a date.

Quick answers

How much do powder brows cost in Edmonton? At the four Edmonton studios we checked on October 20, 2026, a first session costs $200 to $600. At Mari Esthetics in West Edmonton, Soft Powder Brows are $250 for about 150 minutes, with a $75 deposit.

Is the touch-up included in the price? It depends on the studio. All four studios we checked price the first touch-up separately, from $50 to $210. Mari Esthetics’ menu lists one Soft Powder Brows session at $250 and no separate touch-up service.

How long do powder brows last? Mari’s menu says results typically last 1–3 years, depending on skin type and lifestyle. Oily skin tends to sit at the shorter end.

Why do other studios charge more for a refresh the longer I wait? Many Edmonton studios price later visits on a ladder: the more colour has faded, the more work the visit takes, so the price climbs until it is close to a new session. Mari Esthetics’ menu lists one Soft Powder Brows session and no separate refresh service.

Can I wear a toque or go to the rink after? Mari’s aftercare asks you to keep brows dry and avoid heavy sweating for the first 10 days. Plan sweaty rink nights after that, and ask at your appointment if you’re unsure.
